Deciding to, for now, set aside the consumer front, NEC has come forth and unveiled its latest MultiSync PA series professional monitor, a 23-inch liquid crystal display that uses an IPS panel and supports Full HD video quality. NEC's MultiSync line of displays was already large enough even before the new PA model was launched, but new devices are always received with open arms by the market.The main two reasons are that newer models usually have better capabilities than their predecessors and they bear the 'freshness' factor.NEC's newest product goes by the name of MultiSync PA231W and boasts a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.One of this display's main assets is its IPS (in-plane switching) panel, which “delivers excellent picture quality in the [...] 16:9 format.”The product also comes with a 75% coverage of the Adobe RGB color space, as well as a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and a brightness of 270 cd/m2.Other specifications include a DisplayPort connector, a pair of DVI ports, an USB hub, a D-Sub input and a GTG (gray to gray) response time of 8ms.“Current users of conventional 19, 20 and 21-inch 4:3 format professional displays will appreciate the move to a wide screen format and all the well known advantages and qualities of NEC products,” says Christopher Parker, Product Line Manager for Professional Displays at NEC Display Solutions Europe. “The NEC MultiSync PA231W offers the combination of a new format and future-proof features to boost productivity and ensure our customers will be well equipped to meet the growing demands of today’s working life,” he added.The newcomer has already started selling for about 759 Euro in Europe. It is packed with a power cable, a digital DVI-D, a DisplayPort signal cable, one analogue VGA cable and, of course, the manual.
